You burn the screen kinda like you would cut out stencils to paint through. The technique is the same except you use a squeegee to push the ink through.

What type of ink is used for Screen Printing?

There are a number of different inks that can be used with screen printing. The most popular ink for screen printing is actually Plastisol ink. You also have discharge ink that is used for screen printing along with water-based inks. The option that you choose depends on what the item that is that you want to be printed. Another thing that affects which screen printing ink that you are going to use is the feel you want your print to have. Water-based inks are going to have a softer feel than plastisol.

There are different Screen Printing Methods that are used. The most popular is the spot method. That basically means that if you want red ink on your shirt we will find your pan tone and print red ink. 

There is also a CMYK Process. This means that colors are mixed together to form the same colors. You can use this method with only 4 screens instead of needing maybe 10 screens.

What is the Screen Printing Process?

The first thing that happens is that you design your shirt on our website. We created our website with you in mind. We have added thousands of different images to choose from. It does not matter if you are trying to make something from sports to a lawn care business we have some images for you. We also loaded our website with a lot of different fonts to choose from. You can place your image and font anywhere on the front or back of our template, where it allows you inside the border. After you design your t-shirt we take a look at your artwork to make sure that everything is looking good. From there we move your artwork over to vector-making software. We make sure that you are going to have the sharpest and crispest image. We sometimes use Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw for this. 

After your artwork is ready, It's time to burn some screens. Yep, screens are definitely needed in this screen printing process unless we use Screen-printed transfers. After your screens are burned it's time to squeegee your image on down.

After your image is dried using either a conveyor belt or heat press and then your items are then packaged and shipped. There is a lot that goes into screen printing your image. A lot different than our other t-shirt printing methods.
