How a T-shirt is made Pt 2:The Machine

In Part 2 of the series this video is explaining how the cotton goes from plant to fabric. Showing you the machines behind it.

The Cotton is processed through a couple different machines. The raw cotton is sucked up and turned into big sheets, straightened and pulled into ropes.

It is stretched, twisted and turned into yarn. After being turned into big spools of yarn it is then taken to the next step. The circular knitting machine. The yarn is then turned into fabric. It is washed and dyed, then it becomes the fabric for our t-shirts.

Well, this is the process for a regular cotton t-shirt. As you know we use ringspun shirts for our printing. The ring-spun yarn is made by twisting and thinning the cotton strands to make a very fine, strong, soft rope of cotton fibers. Ring-spun cotton t-shirts are more durable and last longer than their regular counterparts, but will also be more expensive, too.
