If you are reading this then you most likely follow politics and you are prepared to vote come November 6th, 2018. Which is great that you are going to show up and take a stand for what you believe in. I think it is very important for everyone to do their research and make sure that it's not one-sided. Me personally I don't go off of what just one person or a group says about another individual. I look at their track record if they already have one. If they have been in congress or the senate I look what they have already voted with and against or if they even voted at all. Yes, that's correct there are some congressman and senators that sit out on votes. I do not understand why they wouldn't when we voted for them to vote for our best interest.
When you are voting, and I'm not just talking about the 2018 Midterms I recommend that you take your time when voting for a candidate. Me personally I do not vote for someone just because they are Democrats, Republics or Independents. I try to find out as much as I can about what that person has been doing in office since being elected. I also try to make sure that I am getting valid information from multiple sources because yes there is a lot of Fake News that you can find on the internet.
If you are looking on how to fact-check congressman and senators and to see what was voted for it is easier then ever now that we have access to the internet at our fingertips. A way that you can find out about your candidate is to look for what the worst is said about that person. I look up every negative thing about them I can find. This is regardless if I like them or not. After gathering the information about this candidate I fact check every negative thing that I do not like. Then I look up everything positive that was said about this person. I go through again and fact check. I look at things that they previously voted on and didn't vote on. You can find this out with something as simple as a google search. You can also find out what they voted on using one of these websites above.
It is important to know who you are voting for. Hold them accountable for their actions by voting. If they allowed something that is going to lower you or your families livelihood take a stand. It can be something as serious as a pipeline in your backyard that is killing all your livestock. Or it can be something as devastating as the Flint Michigan water crises. Or something that can change your lively hood. Maybe you think we should or should not go to war with another country. Just take a stand and make your presence felt this 2018 Midterm election. Fact checking can show you what your congressman has voted for without your knowledge. Every vote they make affects your country or you and your family personally.
If you are not registered to vote its time to start looking at how you can register early. The election date is set on November 6th, 2018 so that gives you a little bit of time. Your vote definitely counts. If you are a felon and have had your voting rights restored you will want to look at what that candidate plans to do for you. If you are reading this then you have most likely turned your life around and maybe had a hard time getting a job. Voting for the right people can change your living conditions and maybe have a plan for expungements or something that will affect your lively hood.
This election is not for the president but is as just as important. Young people make sure you tell your friends to get out and vote. Make sure that you all have your State Id and are registered. Now is the time to take advantage of being a United States citizen and vote in the 2018 Midterms.
When its time to vote make sure that you know where you are supposed to vote at. There are a lot of different stations but you must vote in your district. Well at least here in Fayetteville NC that is the way it is. You can find this out online and it's better to go to your early voting so you can avoid this problem. Again Make sure that you have your State ID or Drivers Licence. When you go to vote you can wear your custom t shirt with your favorite politician or who you don't want to win.
