• Duplicate the layer
• Turn off the original layer so that only your duplicate layer is showing
• Add your image shape or Text
• Make sure that it is below your duplicate layer
• Right click on the layer of your photo and choose clipping mask
• Select the layer with your text or shape and drag around until satisfied
• Save
