Heat Transfers are used by some garment decorators. They can be used to make things such as custom t-shirts and Hats, hoodies, socks, shoes and more. We actually use Direct to Garment Printing. You can design a t-shirt on our website and we will print and ship it to you.
First, let me explain what DTG stands for. DTG stands for Direct to Garment. That means that a DTG printer is actually a Direct to Garment Printer. You print directly on your garment such as a T-shirt. So I am sorry to burst your bubble but there is no such thing as a DTG heat Transfer. Only Direct to Garment printing. If you want a full color heat transfer this can be done with Screen Printing also.
Lucky for you there is a Screen Print heat transfer. The only problem is this option only makes sense to use this option for large orders because just like screen printing there is a minimum amount of transfers that you are going to need to be printed. There will also be a Screen fee. Screen print transfers produce the same quality as screen printing on the shirt. The ink that is used is Plastisol. The plastisol transfer is placed on the shirt and applied using a heat press.
HTV is another name known for Vinyl Heat transfers. HTV Stands for Heat Transfer Vinyl. These are available in quantities as low as 1. These are usually made from vinyl rolls that are cut out using a plotter or cutter. The decals are then placed on the garment and applied using a heat press.
